AMD Athlon™ LE-1660 is a single core processor. Although you will be able to play older games and some newer ones on minimum settings I wouldn’t recommend anyone to buy a single core pc at this stage unless it’s strictly for basic pc use. Especially not for gaming, you’ll find your pc unable to play new games within the coming year and a half. Invest in a good dual core with at least 2.8 GHz or even a quad core if you can. Although games aren’t optimized for quad cores yet, having 3 cores has been proven to improve gaming by unloading background tasks and the OS onto the 3rd core. A quad core also helps future proof your system so you can go longer without having to upgrade. The graphics card could also be better if gaming is your purpose, however it can get the job done, all be it not on the highest settings.

This pc isn’t meant for gaming so don’t buy it expecting it to perform as such.

Now would this have assisted Collins project ?

A Software Engineering Environment for Weapon
System Software: Functional Description
for the Code and Test Phase

1_. Purposes of a SEE
"Software Engineering" is concerned with developing software sys-
tems that satisfy the requirements of the user over the whole life of
the system; a SEE assists the accomplishment of software engineering
through sets of computer facilities, integrated software tools, and
uniform engineering procedures. The term "weapon system software"
inherently implies a concern with software for embedded computer sys-
tems and support over the entire life-cycle. Among the aims of a SEE
are to increase productivity, support development of reproducible
software and promote standardization of software and software develop-
ment methods. The industrialization of computer hardware is already
successful in these areas; the SEE will enable a similar industriali-
zation of computer software.
Productivity
To increase productivity, the SEE must let users work in the most
productive mental surroundings, i.e., at a high level of abstraction,
dealing with the problem they are to solve, rather than the details of

the host computer system. DoD recognized this when they emphasized
High Order Languages (HOL’s) and Ada1 in particular. The SEE must
automate what can be automated to free users of details irrelevant to
their work (how to access the compiler, organization of file struc-
tures, etc.), and guide users in systematic software development.
This guidance will both disencumber users and restrict what they
can do. Structured programming provides a taste of this freedom with
restriction. It makes one’s thinking about decisions easier by pro-
viding a standard set of control structures. It also restricts use of
a large class of possible control statements because they may
adversely affect program quality. Thus, productivity is enhanced by
both the provisions and the restrictions of structured programming.
The SEE’s guidance will have similar benefits.
Software sharing is also essential to increased productivity.
Repeated re-invention of software is a costly waste of resources.
Software developers should be able to make general, flexible

how good is software support for the iphone?

i have a BB 8100 which is nice but ive been having problems with it and im looking into getting a new phone- possibly an iphone. what i want to know is how much software is available for it? am i going to be spending lots of $$$ trying to get good programs or is there tons of freeware and cool stuff?
dont really need any productivity software except for a digital checkbook register.

Once jailbroken, the possibilities of third party apps are endless. I love the iphone’s apps.. a lot cooler than the sidekick’s in my opinion plus they are free too. Apple is going to release their own apps that only AT&T customers may purchase (for now) but as of yet, that hasnt been released. In my opinion, the iphone is a really good phone, glad i finally gave in to all the hype. =)

edit: There are MANY programs that will help make life easier, yes, even a checkbook. ;-)

Logisitics Management Profiles

QC Software is the leading provider of Tier 1 warehouse control systems to the warehousing and distribution industries. Since 1996, QC Software, utilizing state of the art technology combined with extensive research, development, and rigorous testing, has developed the QC Enterprise suite of products. Designed to be modular in nature, easily configurable, and platform independent, this highly scalable solution satisfies the needs of any size warehouse.

The solutions provided by QC Software (www.qcsoftware.com) enables companies to streamline their warehouse operations with the lowest total cost of ownership in the industry ensuring increased corporate profitability. With a commitment to total customer satisfaction QC Software is the obvious choice for warehouse control, order management, and inventory management needs.

In the February 2007 issue of Logistics Management, journalist Maida Napolitano describes how Tommy Hilfiger fashioned a streamlined distribution center by using warehouse control systems, including QC Software. According to Napolitano, an aggressive schedule kept the team on its toes. Everything from design, vendor selection, and permit application to installation and testing had to be completed within 10 months, and construction could not be allowed to impede existing operations. “With no flexibility in the end date, weekly progress meetings were critical so that each aspect of the project stayed on track,” Rudnick says. That strategy—and a lot of hard work—paid off: “Because of the dedicated efforts of the team, they were able to finish the project a month ahead of schedule,” he adds.

The new DC design is expected to provide many benefits. C1’s carton-sortation equipment should cut labor costs by as much as 30 percent, says Paul Grodeck, project manager for equipment provider S&S Systems. SDI’s Haskell says the unit sorter could boost picking productivity by up to 300 percent.

More developments are in the works. Although Retail and Wholesale operations are now located in one facility, they are still systemically separate. Wholesale, for example, cannot use Retail’s unit sorter, nor can Retail use Wholesale’s multilevel pick modules. Silverman says this will soon change.

“We’re in the midst of a worldwide SAP rollout,” he says. “This will provide a single system that interfaces all of the orders to the various WCS (warehouse control systems) and enable us to leverage all the warehouse technology for any product, be it Wholesale or Retail. With one system, we will also be able to cross dock more effectively, increase throughput, and reduce the cost per unit.”

C1’s considerable clear height, moreover, allowed SDI Industries to design another sortation level that could be added in the future. “This vertical expansion essentially would double the number of stores the system can sort to,” notes Silverman.

For now, though, plans are to stand down. “We want to digest what we just completed,” says Gotthardt. But given the changeable nature of the fashion industry, chances are this duo won’t be laying low for long. Gotthardt promises: “We must remain aggressive to stay ahead of the curve.”

When choosing a Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) it is important to understand warehouse needs and benefits of having an integrated Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) before starting the selection process. The goal may be to automate warehouse operations or upgrade to a more robust system.

WCS are a key part of the supply chain and provide directed stock rotation, intelligent picking directives, automatic consolidation and cross-docking to maximize the use of valuable warehouse space. The systems also direct and optimizes stock put-away based on real-time information about the status of bin utilization.

Internet Monitoring Software for Employee Activity Tracking

The requirement of internet monitoring software is so prevalent today that even a tiny startup business cannot get away without implementing the proper tools. There is different internet monitoring software and tools available to check the online activity of employees at work, or of kids and spouses at home.

The requirement of employee tracking and internet monitoring software

Computers and the internet have radically changed the way we do business. Broadband now allows a business to find customers from other end of the continent or even from other side of the world. This in a sense gives tremendous power to the business. On the flip side, the internet is also a resource that people use to seek both good and bad things. Employees are more than likely to allow themselves to wander throughout the virtual world, mostly spending their time idly. Different internet activities that distract employees from doing their work include pornography, email and chatting, online dating and matchmaking, social networking sites like MySpace.com, legal and illegal download of music and video, online games and the list goes on.

Implications of employee internet abuse

While non-business activities can diminish the productivity of employees, a few activities can even have far reaching legal aspects. The owner of the computer resources, like the network and computer hardware, is responsible for the content stored on the system. Suppose an employee had downloaded pirated music. Without a proper internal monitoring system, the employer will be held responsible for the presence of the illegal digital content. Having a solid employee computer activity and internet monitoring tool in place can actually help point out the person who is responsible for the illegal content.

The employer will also be paying huge monthly bills for the broadband he/she uses.

Privacy and Legal Issues

Laws in the United States actually allow an employer to use internet monitoring software and tools. A prior agreement can be made between the employer and its employees to not use the company’s resources for non-business activities. The policy can be handed over to every new employee in the organization. The emails or deleted content will all remain as the exclusive property of the organization.

What does internet monitoring software do?

Internet monitoring software tools are powerful tools that allow the tracking of web activity without the user’s knowledge. When implemented over a corporate network, the tool monitors the websites to which the user navigates and the amount of time spent at different websites, email programs, instant messenger programs, etc. The reports are then sent to the administrator who had installed the monitoring program.

Recommendations

The internet monitoring software for employee tracking available from WorkExaminer.com provides extensive reports about web activity for individuals that use the computers on the corporate network. Work Examiner is not spyware and has no malicious code. Employee web activity reports are available in many common formats. Work Examiner helps a manager keep an accurate log of individual computer usage by different people in the network. Whenever the manager feels it is necessary to take disciplinary action, he or she can have a look at the actual performance of each employee.

Software for a business?

Hypothetical situation: let’s say I own a business where I sell toys. I buy straight from a manufacturer and sell straight to the supplier. However, my business is still only in its first year of trading. I do not employ any staff and want to increase my productivity and efficiency. What software can I use to help me keep track of inventory, manage my orders, keep a list of stores (suppliers) to whom I sell, etc.?

I recently read about open-source or free software so does anyone have any ideas about that…..? Something I can get my hands on easily?

THANKS SO MUCH!!!

I am assuming you are not a very technical person (forgive me if that is wrong). If that is the case you may want to go with a low tech solution (like using microsoft excel) or an inexpensive solution (I believe QuickBooks supports inventory management).

For free software I’ve given you a link to some below. WARNING, some times free means a free trial and you have to pay after X days. Sorry, I cannot recommend any of these because it is not my area of expertise.

Thing to keep in mind with free is too often you get what you pay for. Poor, hard too use, or buggy programs.

The other thing is the type of tool you are looking for is used by business which inherintly means someone that wants to make money therefore has money to spend (theoretically). So, the availability of good inventory software could be limited.

Open source means software that is developed and you can get the code that created it. This is targeted to development types that will go into the code and add to it. Yes, the resultant product can be used by others.

Hope this helps.

P.S. Spend a little time trying out as many packages as you can to see what works.

P.P.S. If Quicken does support inventory management I would strongly suggest starting with them. A good financial software company with a great reputation and not into charging a lot of money. I’ve use their home products for years.

I’m thinking of getting a net-book, and I’m wondering how well the productivity software works.?

If you get a Windows XP netbook, it’ll run any productivity software you can run a Windows XP laptop or Windows XP desktop. Windows XP netbooks generally come with Microsoft Works. If you want Microsoft Office, you can pay for it. Most likely, OpenOffice (which is free) will suit your office needs.

If you get a Linux netbook, it’ll usually come with OpenOffice (and you can install OpenOffice if the netbook doesn’t come with it). You will not be able to install Microsoft Office on it, though.

Get Automatic With Membership Registration Software

The modern world will always have its way to performance and user-friendliness; no doubt it also applies with an automated management of membership software. There are a lot of websites that run on minimal human intervention when managing databases such as membership information. The web caters to the world; hence an automatic registration system is always needed by every administrator out there.

Understanding Automated registration

On automated management of membership software, the system must always get ahead of the game as they are programmed to ease the burden of managing difficult tasks when managing member databases. There are always scripts that handle the job well, of course. If you are just getting used to your website management tools, just study them and how they work, they can provide you limitless ways to ease your task as website admin.

If you are guessing on how it works, to put it simply, it’s nearly automatic, the program depends on the preferences being set on the software itself to manage accounts and other things related to member database. There is really a minimal learning curve to get them done. But of course if you would do extensive backups and other manual stuffs wouldn’t count as effective as the automatic feature, you can program them if available along with the software provided from making the site.

Usage and other functions

Of course we would never want to work more than anything else on tasks of your website, this would eliminate the purpose of automated management of membership softwares, if you still don’t understand some basic things, it would be wise to contact a programmer and gain knowledge on how they work and you can go by yourself with low or minimal supervision on how the system works.

Automated management of membership software will likely be less intrusive to human contact in the long run, all you need is to have good settings and just take care about it from time to time. Of course it needs some HTML know-how to get the job done; there are lots of website management tips to get you moving in no time.

The database also needs constant backups; some of the software provided can also handle these tasks.

When it comes to fraudulent users, spam registrations, there are also commands to eliminate them, though not entirely; they can trim down bots that abuse your system.

On added services part, they can analyze and formulate a marketing strategy on the database alone, member usage, and behavior will tend to get automatic offers and viable paying customers being given good freebies are just some of its real uses.

You can also make use of the database to strategize, there are limitless ways to make sure there are is an ample flow of income on your niche, you could promote a product for a free download with limited usage, trying them out and making sure your customer base will not likely get bored with all your current offers.

Lastly, customer support will play a good role in maintaining your sites’ credibility, from there, you can manage anything on customer queries, and they too are a source of good information to sculpt and add to configure your automated management of membership software. You can always get the best website tools and bring out their maximum productivity if organized and configured right.
