Dear friends,

I am working in a software development company in Bangalore from last 6.5 years as development manager. Now management is planning to close the branch where I am working. All my colegues who agreed, are made to move to another branch in different state, rest are fired. Only I am the exception left now and I cannot make such a move.I have been asked to find a small plug-n-play kind of office for single user (for myself) or cube space in browsing center in Bangalore, and start working from there.

I am not feeling good when it comes to work like this alone with no good infrastructures in place and with too much limitations in monthly expenses. Communicating with team members, regular maintenance & taking responsibility day to day events in new place ….. etc will become problem. Also these can affect my productivity.

Unfortunately company does not have backup person for my position. My boss is not letting me to step out from company. I am the last person in whole company who picks tasks to find solutions for escalated tasks.

Please give me some suggestions/share from your expirience, so that I can convince my boss that I cannot continue working alone here. Instead I would prefer to step out from company. But if they keep the company open and hire techies as before, I am the most happiest person to server the company.

I would look for backup work in case you decide to leave. It’s always a tough decision whether or not to stay with a company due to relocation. If you are a bachelor then it’s an easier decision but if you have a family it’s the hardest thing to do.

However, either way its tough. You have to pickup and move and have to leave everything and everyone behind and take your essentials.

Think it through as it may be your life changing decision.
